As an organization which serves mental health and addiction treatment providers, the AZZLY Team is excited to build relationships with providers and leaders of Tribal nations to listen, to learn and to apply the needs of the tribal nation community to our behavioral healthcare software platform to best support all native communities.
The 2022 Tribal Self-Governance Conference is scheduled for July 31, 2022-August 4, 2022. The conference is currently scheduled as an in-person event at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, CA. All paid registrations from the canceled 2020 Annual Tribal Self-Governance Conference will be automatically transferred to the 2022 Tribal Self-Governance Conference.
Our own Dr. Andrea Barthwell, AZZLY’s Board Chair, has been invited to participate in the panel “COVID Aftermath: Addressing Mental Health in Tribal Communities” at the Tribal Self-Governance Conference on August 2 at 4:00 PM. Be there to see Dr. Barthwell in discussion with April Kyle, President and CEO, Southcentral Foundation, and Darrell LaRoche, Director, Office of Clinical & Preventive Services, Indian Health Service. The panel will be hosted by Robert Miguel, Chairman, Ak-Chin Indian Community, and Jennifer Loren, Executive Director, Cherokee Nation Film Office.

At the 2022 Tribal Self-Governance Consultation Conference, attendees will:
- Learn about several mechanisms Tribal governments use to take over the administration of Federal programs and how Tribal governments can implement or enhance Self-Governance.
- Stay up-to-date on leading practices for program administration and the success Tribal Nations experience through Self-Governance agreements.
- Stay up-to-date on expanded Self-Governance opportunities, such as through the Department of Transportation, and discuss issues of relevance for tribal governments with both Tribal and Federal leaders.
- Learn how a Tribe’s decision to administer Federal programs and services to their communities through Self-Governance redefines the government-to-government relationship.
